OSNG Awards 2025

The Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece, in the spirit of reinforcing the research of Orthodontic Science by young colleagues, is awarding for 2023 the already established three annual awards of excellence which are accompanied by financial aid of 1500 (one thousand five hundred) euros in total which will be divided for each award as explained below:

The excellence awards are given to principal investigators who have carried out research or clinical work in Orthodontics and are as follows:

1. Ετήσιο βραβείο Ορθοδοντικής Εταιρείας Βορείου Ελλάδος για την Καλύτερη Δημοσίευση σε Περιοδικό στο τρέχον ή προηγούμενο έτος.
2. Annual award of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece for Best Oral Presentation at the annual Panhellenic Congressof the Orthodontic Society of Greece and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece, and
3. Annual award of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece for Best E-Poster at the annual Panhellenic Congress of the Orthodontic Society of Greece and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece.

In each calendar year, the principal investigator may apply for only one of the three awards above.

FINANCIAL AID

The total financial aid of 1500 euros will be divided among the three different categories by 700, 500 and 300 euros respectively, always provided that the financial situation of the Company allows it.

GRANT OF PRIZES

Each of the above prizes is awarded to the principal investigator, who must not exceed 45 years of age and must not hold an academic rank higher than assistant professor.

Each of the above prizes can be awarded equally to two researchers for the same work, as long as the second researcher meets the same age and academic requirements as the main researcher.

Η απονομή των βραβείων θα πραγματοποιηθεί κατά τη διάρκεια του 28ου Πανελληνίου Συνεδρίου της Ορθοδοντικής Εταιρείας της Ελλάδος και της Ορθοδοντικής Εταιρείας Βορείου Ελλάδος.

Alternatively, the award may take place (a) at a special meeting of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece or (b) during other scientific events organized or participated in by the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece during the same or the following calendar year.

SCIENTIFIC COMMITEE

The presentations will be judged by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The terms and conditions for awarding the prizes are as follows:

1. Για το βραβείο της Καλύτερης Δημοσίευσης σε Περιοδικό θα πρέπει να υποβληθεί (α) μια αίτηση υποψηφιότητας για το συγκεκριμένο βραβείο και (β) ένα ανάτυπο της εργασίας σε έντυπη και ηλεκτρονική μορφή η οποία δημοσιεύτηκε ή έγινε δεκτή για δημοσίευση σε έγκυρο επιστημονικό περιοδικό την τρέχουσα ή την προηγουμένη χρονιά. Σε περίπτωση που η εργασία δεν έχει δημοσιευθεί κατά την περίοδο της αίτησης τότε θα πρέπει να υποβληθεί το πιστοποιητικό αποδοχής για τη δημοσίευση από το περιοδικό στο οποίο έγινε δεκτή. Ο κύριος ερευνητής έχει υποχρέωση να παρουσιάσει τη βραβευμένη εργασία σαν ελεύθερη ανακοίνωση στο ετήσιο Πανελλήνιο Συνέδριο της Ορθοδοντικής Εταιρείας της Ελλάδος και της Ορθοδοντικής Εταιρείας Βορείου Ελλάδος.
2. For the award of the best oral presentation, (a) a nomination application for the specific award, (b) an abstract of the communication and (c) an extended summary of the announcement (at least 1500-2000 words) in hard copy or electronic format, if it has been recently published must be submitted in accordance with the submission instructions of the Panhellenic Congress of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece. After evaluation of the abstracts, the preselection of the three best papers will follow, which will be presented in a special session during the annual Panhellenic Conference of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece, during which the final selection of the best paper will be made by the review commitee.
3. For the Best E-Poster award, (a) a nomination application for the specific award and (b) abstract of announcement in accordance with the submission guidelines of the Panhellenic Congress of the Orthodontic Society of Greece and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece.

The evaluation of the e-posters will take place during the Panhellenic Conference of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece.
